Alex Marquez will be hoping to register his third victory of the 2025 MotoGP season by winning the
Japanese MotoGP and boost his world championship ambitions.

The Ducati BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider claimed a podium spot at the San Marino and the Rimini Riviera MotoGP on 14 September, the most recent event on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.
Marquez started on the second grid and he went on to finish third, while also finishing as the runner-up in the sprint event, which saw him accumulate 25 points in Italy.
MotoGP title ambitions
The former Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider is still placed second in the 2025 MotoGP Riders' standings, having collected 330 points from 16 races.
Alex is 182 points behind leader Marc Marquez of Ducati and 93 points ahead of third-placed Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati.
Why Alex Marquez could win the 2025 Japanese MotoGP
The 2012 CEV Moto3 season's title winner has secured podium spots in the last two races, having won the Catalan MotoGP and finishing third in the San Marino and the Rimini Riviera MotoGP.
Marquez, who also won this season's Spanish MotoGP, is under pressure to win the Japanese MotoGP in order to keep his dream of winning the MotoGP world championship alive.
What did he say?
“Today I gave it all," Alex Marquez said after finishing third at the 2025 San Marino and the Rimini Riviera MotoGP.
"The podium was the maximum result possible because since the start of the weekend Marc (Marquez) and Marco (Bezzecchi) were a couple of tenths quicker, which we weren’t able to find.
"We’ll continue on our path to the runner-up spot in the championship, which would be a really great result.”
